We woke up to a bit of rain — did laundry, a little grocery shopping and headed out for more D-Day. I am a bit D-Dayed out, but it is rainy and this is Randy’s part of the trip so D-Day it is.

Airborne Museum. Forget my previous comment. This turned out to be

one of the most impressive museums we’ve been to.

The white parachute flies from a nearby church today as a memorial to those who died

Randy said he rode in many of these during his days in the Marine Corps

Great installments and period equipment exemplifying what life was like

I shouldn’t complain about not being able to find anything but croissants for breakfast.
These soldiers had canned eggs :/

A wonderful video of a Col. giving us orders as we reach the beach

A closer view of the church and parachute where a parachutist
played dead for two hours to avoid being captured

We were amazed to see this robot lawn mower!

They provided us with iPads we could scan certain areas for  more information

A commemorative marker outside the museum

Another view of the outside of one of the buildings

The inside of the museum was impressive

Interesting building nearby the museum

Beautiful interior with a parachute design

The parachutist’s bike was used by one of the civilians until 1975.
The shirt was mad out of a red parachute.

A lovely wedding dress. You guessed it—made out of a parachute
