Friday May 13

Yikes it’s Friday the 13. With our luck we shouldn’t go out—But we ventured to Mont Saint- Michelle. One of the most revered spots in the world for centuries. We found Apple Maps worked far better than the Garmin GPS so no pics along the way. The Abby was amazing considering the initial sanctuary was built in 705 and the remaining Abbey in the 12th century. The curved brick arches were especially interesting to Randy to see up close how they were made. The 2-course lunch of mussels and dessert was divine.

Outside of Mont St. Michelle

A view of the Mud where the tide has gone out from the top

We are about to go up 16 flights of stairs

I love the repeating arches

Inside the worship area
Beautiful and amazing architecture

It’s hard to believe this was built in the  12th century

Done in Baroque Gothic style

Another great dessert.

Lots of wonderful Mussels

This is the area where the Abbey Staff lived

This Sea Gull liked the view from the top
